Top Ten Reasons I Wrote Trinity's Hope #6

Hey Everyone,

I know it's been a minute since I've added to my Top Ten List, but it's time I get you all caught up! Since the release of Trinity's Hope, I've been super busy. But not so busy that I didn't take the time reflect on the process. And believe me, the process of producing this book was a long, sometimes exasperating journey.

Nevertheless, there were lessons learned. Which leads me to 6th reason I wrote this book:

The message in Trinity's Hope had to be released. This was a calling God placed on my life that I had to fulfill.

In spite of that, there were many times I wanted to give up and walk away from this project. From the early days when I had very little confidence in my abilities, through the silent years when it sat dormant while my life took a series of unexpected twists and turns, to the struggles to come to a meeting of the minds with those who were partnering with me to produce the book. Throughout all this, my flesh got weak, my mind got weary and my temper led me to ugly places - more than once.

But God was ever faithful to bring me back center. To focus on His calling and His purpose for the book.

He did this by reminding me that this was not just my book, but His inspired vision. A love letter from His heart to His children who need to understand some things about Him and His ways. You see, There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 16:25). This is so true when it comes to issues of the heart. Especially in the African American church.

For many reasons, we simply don't have a proper "God-perspective" of love and romance, dating and marriage. Many not only struggle with sexual sin, but they have no idea of the eternal consequences of fornication, adultery and homosexuality. The word is very clear: Having sex outside of marriage (between a man and woman) is a sin and if you die in that sin, you will go to hell. That's not a threat...it's a reality based on the Word of God.

The bigger issue with sexual sin in the church is that this blatant ignorance and/or disregard of God's commands have been passed down generationally and now some of our children are simply out of control. From pregnancy pacts, to "hookin' up, to gang rapes, our ignorance as a people has caused us to sow seeds of destruction in the lives of our legacy and some of their lives mirror more of the world's ways than God's character. And God has charged me to help change this through my books, through mentoring and teaching the truth.

Purity (Abstinence, Celibacy) is God's desire for His sons and daughters who are not married. He desires that they draw near to Him so that He can reveal His blueprint, His plan for their lives. He desires to show them their purpose and get them moving in that direction. This is so important because the purpose that's dwelling on the inside of each of us is tied to the need in someone else's life. Like an invisible spiritual pipeline, we all have something wonderful and needful to share with others and if we're not in our proper place, aligned with our purpose, someone is going to miss out on their blessing.

For me, that purpose is being a writer who writes books that celebrate love and romance the way God intended. Which is one of the Top Ten Reasons I wrote Trinity's Hope! And based on some of the reviews that are just coming in, God has allowed me to hit the target dead on:

"This book has blessed my life in so many ways. Before reading Trinity's Hope I had so many questions that were unanswered from my parents for years concerning life and its challenges, and as a result of those unanswered questions from my mother and father they were all answered in this book. . . The impartations I've received from Trinity's Hope are definitely eternal."

"This book made me see things in life so much differently and made me have a better connection with God. I know I cried at least an hour while reading this book. I recommend this to all teenagers, even adults who need inspiration on finding out what God has created them to do."

I am truly blessed and humbled by what God is doing in the lives of these young ladies. I could not have asked for a better outcome. And I am so thankful that I didn't succumb to the pressure and give up. These testimonies were worth all the struggles.

Be blessed and be sure to get a copy of Trinity's Hope for the young ladies in your life. Truly this is not about me. Every book sold represents a life changed!

Peace,

Melissa
